I've been volunteering with Gilda's Club Grand Rapids for about ten years now and am so proud of everything that it offers to our community.  For those touched by cancer or grief, Gilda's Club offers amazing opportunities for sharing laughter and tears and everything in between.  The best part is that all of their services are free, funded 100% by charitable donations.

This will be my fourth year participating in the West Side Walk to raise awareness and funds for Gilda's Club, and I've started a new team to help spread the word and seek support from a new and broader audience.  I hope that you'll support me in this effort!  Please consider making a financial donation of any size.  You might consider $37, which is the average cost of a member's visit to the clubhouse, which might include supper, a support group meeting, and a craft workshop or fitness class.  However, a donation of even one dollar helps!

This year, the West Side Walk will look a little different.  Public health and safety will dictate the format, with many opting to complete the Walk virtually and others likely participating in small, staggered walks on-site.  We'll all miss the sense of community shared at the block party this year, but we'll feel a sense of larger community as we protect the health of our vulnerable Gilda's Club members and join in walking together from all across the city, state, and country!
