I am passionate about Gilda's Club's mission to provide free emotional support for those on a cancer or grief journey. I have volunteered with Gilda's Club Grand Rapids since before they opened their red door in 2001. Since the inception of the West Side Walk, with the very generous support of my friends and family, I have raised almost $24,000 for this great organization. June marked the 35th anniversary of my mom's death from cancer. I dedicate my walk this year to the spirit and bravery my mom showed in the face of cancer. I walk so that others don't feel the isolation I felt upon her death. At Gilda's Club we are all in this together. Please help continue the memory of my mom - Jackie Laycock. For those of you who have known me for a long time, you know how her spirit still shines brightly.
