6th Annual West Side Walk Rae of Sunshine

 

On September 19th I'll be walking with family and friends to raise funds for Gilda's Club Grand Rapids. Gilda's provides free support to individuals and families affected by cancer. Gilda's Club is one of the most welcoming warm places that I have ever been. Even though it is not a club you want to be in, I feel so grateful to have met so many amazing people through them.
This "journey" that I have been on has been tough but has also made me so grateful for all the love and support that I have received from everyone in my life. Unfortunately it's a journey that will continue for me. I truly have the best support. If you are interested in joining me for the walk, you can register using the link below. Now more than ever, it is critical for the community to rally around Gilda's Club. The unexpected cost of shifting to their virtual program as well as lost revenue from cancelled events has left a gap in our operating budget.

 
You can walk, donate, and/or share the page to spread the word! Any way that you're able to contribute is highly appreciated! This will be the second year that Rae of Sunshine has walked at the West Side Walk. Last year our team fundraiser goal was $816 (8/16/2019) was my last day of active treatment. And we crushed that goal by raising $2,719! I'm hoping we can raise even more this year- my goal is $5,000. I have been doing a can drive to raise some of this money if that's something you'd be interested in doing as well. Sharing it on social media sites is also a great way to raise funds!     The West Side Walk is still planned to occur at this point! And Gilda's needs our contribution- Gilda GR's biggest fundraiser of the year (LaughFest) had to be cut short this year due to COVID.   So far, Alex and I have raised $616.26 through a can & bottle drive and those donations…
